ODI call-up is like an early birthday present: Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya has been recently in the news after getting included in the India ODI squad for the first three matches against New Zealand which is scheduled to be played later this month. The news obviously was a good one for Pandya who was going through a low patch after making a starry T20I debut for India earlier this year. However, there was another news which suddenly began trending as soon as Pandya was selected in the ODI squad.

It was about Pandya and his rumored girlfriend Lisa Sharma. It was being reported that both were holidaying in Hong Kong prior to the start of the India A tour of Australia. However, it seems that all those news were false. The all-rounder recently, during an interview cleared the air about his personal life and stated that he is currently single and his only focus is to cement his place in the Indian team.

“I have never spoken about my relationships in public but since these reports are doing rounds, I think I should set the record straight. I have been single for the last four months. And to say I am dating anyone at present and all these news is absolutely rubbish.”

“I was in a relationship in the past but I don’t want to speak about whom I dated or any other details associated with it. I just want to focus on my cricket right now and I am thrilled about making by ODI debut. This call-up is like an early birthday present for me and I hope that I will get to play and help India in winning the series.”
