India’s middle-order batsman Kedar Jadhav was recently included in the squad for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies. This was the first time, Jadhav was picked in the Indian team after the West Indies tour right after the 2019 World Cup. He was not a part of the Men in Blue side for the T20I series against South Africa or Bangladesh.

His inclusion in the team has made the fans and experts scratch their heads as his performance in the 50-over international format has not been very good and was even dropped from the Indian team for the last couple of matches in the World Cup as well. His last 10 innings in ODIs have resulted in only two scores above 50. Even during the ongoing domestic season, he has scored an 86 for India B against India C in a List-A game, while scored a 68 for Maharashtra in a T20 game.

At 35 years old, Jadhav is probably in the last phase of his international career and has struggled with his fitness with hamstring issues hampering his game since 2018. Once a vital cog for Virat Kohli in the middle order and rolling his arm over for a few overs; the return of form for Jadeja has made him unnecessary in the team. His age also makes him unfavorable for the upcoming World Cup in India in 2023, while he is rarely a part of the T20I series for India.

As for his career so far for the Men in Blue, Jadhav has 1289 runs from 68 ODIs with two centuries and the best score of 120 at an average of 42.96 and a strike rate of 101.49. In 9 T20I matches, Jadhav has 122 runs with a best of 58 runs. With the influx of young blood in middle-order like Manish Pandey and Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube poised to be given the finisher’s role; Kedar Jadhav finds himself at crossroads where even a single failure will result in his expulsion, possibly permanently.

Kedar Jadhav shares a dialogue from Salman Khan movie and gets trolled by fans

Meanwhile, Kedar Jadhav took to Twitter to share a photo of himself with the caption from Salman Khan’s movie “Dil mein aata hoon, samajh mein nahi”. Jadhav is a diehard fan of the Indian actor and the caption can be a tribute to his favorite artist.

However, this didn’t go down well with the fans of the Indian team. They decided to troll the batsman and asked him to concentrate on his batting and keeping his place in the Indian team.
