Yuvraj Singh and Jasprit Bumrah recently had some hilarious conversation on Instagram Live. Both of them have played for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and also for the Indian team. Hence, it’s not a surprise that they share a healthy camaraderie. However, Yuvraj took it as a chance to take a dig at the fast bowler, citing his batting numbers in international cricket.
Bumrah only has 59 runs in 128 matches for Team India and hasn’t shown any prowess with the bat. The T20I average of four is his highest, combining all the three formats. Bumrah also hasn’t done a whole lot at the first-class level and Yuvraj took the opportunity to troll his teammate.
“You have a highest of 10 in ODIs, 10 in Tests and 16 runs in IPL. You have a total of 82 runs in 80 first-class class games,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying during the interaction.
However, Bumrah didn’t die wondering. The 26-year-old put forth his highest score in competitive cricket to troll back Yuvraj. “I have a highest of 20-ball 42 runs against Goa,” he stated.

In the meantime, Bumrah has posted a short clip from the exact knock he played against Goa in the 2017 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In that game at the Guru Nanak College Ground in Chennai, he smashed 42 off 24, batting at 10. During his stay in the middle, he hit four fours and three sixes. He put on a partnership of 55 runs with Manpreet Juneja.
From 215 for seven, Bumrah took his team to 277 for nine in their 50 overs. Most importantly, he had a strike-rate of 175. The knock turned out to be a crucial one as Gujarat won the game by 78 runs. Bumrah also had a decent day with the ball, picking up the wickets of Swapnil Asnodkar and Sagun Kamat.
He said that he’s uploading the video after demands from Yuvraj itself. Bumrah captioned the video and wrote, “On popular demand (mostly by @YUVSTRONG12), here’s presenting, Jasprit Bumrah’s match winning knock of 2017!”
