Oppo showcases its support for Team India

Recently, it was announced that OPPO replaced Star India as the new sponsor of the Indian cricket team. The company paid 1079 crore signing a deal for five years. They outbid Vivo who put in a bid of 768 crores. Both OPPO and Vivo are subsidiaries of BBK Electronics Corp. OPPO will pay Rs. 4.61 crore per match and Rs. 1.56 crore for an ICC match.

The bidding took place under the watchful eyes of the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA). OPPO’s deal came to fruition on April 1st. The five-year deal includes the right to be called the official team sponsor and the right to display its logo on the jerseys for the men’s cricket team, A team, women’s team and the Under 19 sides. Their entry will see it reach a wider audience. The Chinese manufacturer looks at this as a massive step in entering the Indian market where cricket as the unofficial national game of the country.

The launch of a new initiative

To support Team India’s quest to retain the Champions Trophy, OPPO on Wednesday launched a new version of OPPO F3 Black. The phone will be featured at a market price of Rs 19,990. It boasts of a dual front camera which has a resolution of 16MP and a wide angle lens for group selfies.

Will Yang, Brand Director, OPPO India said in a statement: “The colour ‘black’ is synonymous with style and suave. With a stylish edge to the new OPPO F3, we aim to give consumers a chance to make a style statement”. The phone presents itself in polished black with the BCCI logo to cement the relationship between the BCCI and OPPO. This limited edition product will be auctioned off on flipkart on Saturday, a day before the India-Pakistan match on June 4.”
