Veteran Australian all-rounder James Faulkner took to Twitter on Saturday (February 19) made some serious allegations against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The left-arm pacer, who has been a part of Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022, in a series of tweets claimed PCB hasn’t hounoured his contractual aggrements and payments. Hence, he’s leaving the tournament midway and won’t be featuring in the last league-stage game of the franchise.

Faulkner even said the PCB officials kept him in the dark with continuous lies. Calling PCB’s treatment a ‘disgrace,’ the fast bowler also mentioned he has been batting for regular international cricket in Pakistan. Notably, Faulkner played six matches this season and picked as many wickets. He also made some handy batting contributions lower down the order.

Treatment I have received from PCB has been a disgrace: James Faulkner

However, the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side won’t be able to avail his services for the last two clashes. He has apologized the cricket fans for the same. “I apologise to the Pakistan cricket fans. But unfortunately I’ve had to withdraw from the last 2 matches and leave the @thePSLt20 due to the @TheRealPCB not honouring my contractual agreement/payments. I’ve been here the whole duration and they have continued to lie to me,” tweeted Faulkner.

“It hurts to leave as I wanted to help to get international cricket back in Pakistan as there is so much young talent and the fans are amazing. But the treatment I have received has been a disgrace from the @TheRealPCB and @thePSLt20 I’m sure you all understand my position,” he wrote in another post.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old has been a part of PSL since the last season, where he represented Lahore Qalandars. The Gladiators bagged his services this season and the all-rounder did a pretty decent job. Notably, Australia is set to tour Pakistan for an all-format series next month. Although Faulkner won’t feature in the tour, he had been openly urging his countrymen to be a part of the historic series.

Meanwhile, let’s look at how Twitterati reacted to the entire saga:
