The first Test of the three-match series between Pakistan and Australia ended in a draw as the Rawalpindi track hardly had any assistance for bowlers. Just 14 wickets fell in five days of play where rain also played a significant part. Meanwhile, the game held great importance as it marked Australia’s first assignment on Pakistan soil since 1998.

Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne was among the many batters to make his bat talk in the match. Coming to bat at number three, the top-ranked Test batter played some delightful shots all over the park. He even looked all set to slam his seventh Test century. However, he fell prey to Shaheen Afridi at a personal score of 90. Nonetheless, the 27-year-old was pretty pleased with his outing and he expressed the same after the conclusion of the contest.

Marnus Labuschagne impressed with fan’s gesture

Taking to Instagram, the batter shared a picture of one of his fans in Rawalpindi stadium, holding a innovative placard. “Beware of Marnus, he will say No Run all day and end up with a 100,” read the text in the placard. Labuschagne was certainly impressed with the gesture as he expressed gratitude towards the spectators. “It’s been great to see all the signs in the crowd at Rawalpindi, feeling very welcome #AUSvPAK,” he captioned the snap.

Meanwhile, Australian captain Pat Cummins also heaped praises on the spectators after the game. “Should be going relatively fresh for the next Test. The whole city got around us and welcomed us. Has been an amazing week here at Rawalpindi,” said the top-ranked Test bowler in the post-match conversation.

Meanwhile, the second Test gets underway on March 12 at the National Stadium in Karachi. As the flat track in Rawalpindi gained massive criticism, the pitch in the second clash is expected to be more competitive. Pakistan will certainly be confident ahead of the fixture as many of their batters got runs while spinner Nauman Ali bagged a six-wicket haul. On the other hand, the Aussies have some brainstorming to do as their bowlers looked entirely ineffective.
