Pakistan cricketers welcome Sri Lanka in Lahore

Pakistan is bracing themselves up for the ultimate showdown in Lahore as the revival of international cricket continues. The third and final T20I of the series between the home side and Sri Lanka is all set to commence on Sunday at Gaddafi Stadium. The teams played a humdinger a couple of days ago in a thriller when Shadab Khan became the hero at their home venue. However, there is a chance for them now to shine and clean sweep the island nation in the T20 series much like they did in the ODIs.

However, apart from the contest on the field, there is so much at stake for both the teams off the field. Sri Lanka was the team which was attacked in 2009 but they are the first major team to have taken a brave step to tour Pakistan down the line after eight years. Everyone has so far appreciated the decision of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to help the PCB in every way possible. The players would like to concentrate on their game in front of a jam-packed crowd as the fans will be cheering for both the sides.

Emotional cricketers greet Lankan players

This is indeed an emotional moment for each and every cricket fans along with the players as an official international team has visited the country after a long time. While the cricket lovers are super excited for the game, the players too can’t hide their excitement to play in front of the local crowd. The former cricketers too who missed the cricket in their home soil are thanking the Sri Lankan players on social media and getting ready for the historic game.

Shoaib Akhtar took to social media on the eve of the game and also requested the board to felicitate the national heroes who lost their lives in the attack eight years ago. The all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez also welcomed the cricketers from island nation and tweeted that Pakistan is ready to host them with the warm hospitality. Similarly, other cricketers also have greeted the visiting team and have ensured that they will enjoy their time in the country.
