Team India skipper Virat Kohli continued his rampaging form and dominance in world cricket. After a fine ton in the second innings of the Kolkata Test against Sri Lanka, Kohli has now hit a magnificent double ton in the Nagpur Test. The monumental effort was his fifth double ton – the most for any player as a captain in the history of world cricket. Also, this was his 10th century in this calendar year.

With that knock, Virat Kohli has managed to beat the previous record holders for most centuries in a calendar year. Certainly, his exceptional run of form is rubbing on the performance of the Indian team now. Well, the praises have been flooding in for him from all corners. Now, the Indian captain seems to be getting the adulation from the Pakistani media as well.

The cricketing relations between India and Pakistan have been sour for almost five year now. There have been no bilateral series between the two countries since 2012-13 season. Despite this, the love and adulation that Virat Kohli is getting from the other side of the border seems to be unmatched. Recently, his monumental ton in the Kolkata Test saw him fetch warm regards from the Pakistani media.

A video has been going viral from a news segment of a Pakistani media house. The guest panelist is seen heaping praises on Kohli. When the anchor talks about the comparisons of Kohli with the likes of Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad, the panelist just rubbishes such idea. He also goes on to quote that Kohli is right among the top crop of international cricket.

He feels it is indeed a great achievement to score more than 50 international centuries. On the other hand, there are Pakistani cricketers who play for a decade or two but fail to score even 5 tons. The panelist notes that Virat Kohli deserves a place among the top players list with the likes of Steven Smith and Hashim Amla.
