After a 5-0 loss against a visiting Australian side in the UAE last month, the Pakistan team is now touring England to play five One Day Internationals as their last set of fixtures right ahead of the upcoming World Cup. The only Pakistan captain till date to win the ICC World Cup title for the nation Imran Khan has something special to say about the current captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who will make a comeback in the upcoming away series against the hosts of the ICC event.
The first ODI game of the five-match series is scheduled to be played on May 8, after a one-off T20 game that will be played on May 5. Earlier, Pakistan announced their squad for the World Cup and took some bold decisions too. Veteran pacer Mohammad Amir was left out of the 15-member squad for the ICC event due to his form. However, Pakistan has been confused regarding his stand as the selectors have kept him in the squad for the England bilateral series.
Without Amir in the World Cup mix, the pacer department of Pakistan will now include Junaid Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hasan Ali. The upcoming series will be crucial for the visiting team in a lot of ways. Following that, Pakistan will play their first match of the ICC Cricket Men’s World Cup on Friday, May 31 against the Jason Holder-captained Windies.
