The national selection committee helmed by Inzamam-ul-Haq has announced 31 players for the High-Performance Camp to be conducted at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

Inzamam, who had a close watch on the Pakistan ‘A’ players in the ongoing tri-series with England Lions and Sri Lanka A, has rewarded top performers such as Hasan Ali, Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Hasan with a place in the camp.

Surprisingly, all-rounder Fawad Alam found no place in the squad, whereas the selectors have recalled Umar Gul, Junaid Khan and Bilawal Bhatti.

Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal have been neglected for the camp. This means that both the players will be unlikely to become a part of the limited over squad against England.

Reportedly, the national selection committee is not ready to recall both players who were dropped on disciplinary grounds after the World T20.

“The selectors have shortlisted 30 probables and these include mostly young players and there is no room for Shahzad or Umar,” one source told Press Trust of India. “The selectors want to give new and young players maximum exposure in T20 cricket and are also considering resting experienced all-rounder Shoaib Malik for the T20 match in England.”

The three-week camp begins from August 1.

The players called up:

Shoaib Malik, Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, Sohaib Maqsood, Mohammad Irfan, Umar Gul, Junaid Khan, Imamul Haq, Anwar Ali, Ehsan Adil, Sharjeel Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Asghar, Bilawal Bhatti, Amad Butt, Aamer Yamin, Azizullah, Mohammad Abbas, Shahdab Khan, Mohammad Hasan (wk), Saifullah Bangash (wk), Bismillah Khan (wk), Mir Hamza, Hayatullah, Zeeshan Malik, Hasan Raza, Rumman Raees, Zia ul Haq
