The 2nd edition of Pakistan Super League saw a new culture with Pakistan hosting the final of the tournament after all the earlier games were played in UAE. In the final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi outclassed Quetta Gladiators by a big 58-run margin to bag the title even after losing the toss. Here we look at all the stats and numbers recorded during the PSL season.

4/7 – Yasir Shah’s bowling figures of 4/7 are the best bowling figures in this PSL edition. The previous PSL edition recorded three 5-fers but this season didn’t witness even one.

8 – Number of catches taken by Kieron Pollard in this edition of PSL, the most by any fielder. These are also the most catches taken by a fielder in a single edition of PSL overhauling Umar Akmal in the previous edition and Ravi Bopara and Hasan Khan in this edition, who all took 7 catches each.

12 – Number of keeping dismissals made by Karman Akmal in this PSL edition, the most by any wicket-keeper. These are also the most dismissals made in a single edition of PSL. Mohammad Rizwan and Kamran Akmal in the previous edition and Kumar Sangakkara in this edition made 10 dismissals apiece.

16 – Wickets picked up by Sohail Khan in this edition of PSL, the most by any player. These are also the joint most wickets taken by a bowler in a PSL season equaling Andre Russell’s 16 wickets in the previous edition.

16 – Number of sixes Kamran Akmal has hit in this PSL edition, the most by any player.

52 – Runs conceded by Junaid Khan in his 4 overs in the game vs Islamabad United, the most runs conceded in a game in this PSL edition and the 2nd most in all the PSL games. Highest is 57 runs by Anwar Ali in the previous season.

59 – Lahore Qalandars’ total of 59 vs Peshawar Zalmi is the lowest total in all PSL games so far. 2nd lowest total also recorded in this very season when Islamabad United bowled out for 82 vs Karachi Kings.

90 – Quetta Gladiators’ total of 90 all out is the 2nd lowest total in a Twenty20 final. Lowest is 71 by Ireland in the recent Desert T20 final against Afghanistan.

104 – Kamran Akmal’s 104 vs Karachi Kings in the 2nd qualifier is the highest individual score in this PSL edition. His century is only the 2nd in PSL after Sharjeel Khan’s 117 during last year’s qualifier.

139 – Partnership stand between David Malan and Mohammad Hafeez for the 3rd wicket for Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators in the first qualifier is the highest stand for any wicket in this PSL edition. In overall, this is the 2nd highest partnership for any wicket in PSL.

148/6 – Peshawar Zalmi successfully defended their total of 148/6 in the PSL final at Lahore which is the lowest defended total by any team to win a Twenty20 final in Pakistan. Previous Lowest: 151 by Sialkot Stallions against Karachi Dolphins in 2006.

173.52 – Batting strike-rate of Shahid Afridi in this PSL edition, the best strike-rate for any player. (Min: 100 runs)

202/5 – Quetta Gladiators’ total of 202/5 vs Lahore Qalandars is the highest total in this PSL edition and the 2nd highest in all the PSL games. Highest is 203/8 by Quetta vs Qalandars only in the previous season.

353 – Runs scored by Kamran Akmal in this PSL edition, the most by any player. His aggregate is the most in a PSL edition beating 335 by Umar Akmal last year.
