After a historic win in the Test series, Sri Lanka will now look forward to the 5-match ODI series against Pakistan eyeing their maiden ODI series win in the UAE as well against the home team. Pakistan v Sri Lanka is one of the most frequent battle in the ODI format with the Pakistani side holding a clear upper hand over the Island nation. However, in the last few years, Sri Lanka have come close to Pakistan in the bilateral fixtures while the green team won everything in the ICC events.

The Sri Lankan stalwarts Sanath Jayasuriya and Muttiah Muralitharan bag the top spots in the individual lists with 2517 runs and 96 wickets respectively. Inzamam-ul-Haq with 2265 runs and Wasim Akram’s 92 wickets top the list for Pakistan in ODIs against Sri Lanka. Jayasuriya is also the 4th leading wicket-taker in the rivalry as the left-handed all-rounder picked up 71 ODI wickets against Pakistan.
