After a historic Test series which the Australians won by a 1-0 margin, Babar Azam will lead his Pakistan side to face the Kangaroos in limited-overs series, starting with a three-match ODI series from March 29, 2022. The three ODIs and a solitary T20I will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The second and third ODIs will be played on March 31 and April 2 respectively, while the tour will conclude with the only T20I which will be held on April 5.
Talking about the recently concluded Test series, the Aussie skipper Pat Cummins led his side to a memorable series victory. Touring Pakistan for the first time since the year 1998, the tourists won the three-match series by the same 1-0 margin that they achieved 24 years back. After the first two Tests ended in a dull draw, the decider that was played in Lahore produced a result as Nathan Lyon spun his web on the final day with a five-wicket haul to script a famous win for his side.
The Australians will be without a few of the regular starters in the upcoming three ODIs with David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, and Steven Smith all missing. Marsh and Smith are both injured as Cameron Green and Marnus Labuschagne will be their like-for-like replacements. Josh Inglis, Nathan Ellis, Mitchell Swepson, and Ben Dwarshuis may also get a chance at some point in the series. The hosts have included exciting and powerful batter Mohammad Harris after his strong performances in the PSL and he could well make his international debut.
