Pakistan vs Australia: PCB launches inquiry after the biscuit trophy debacle

The T20I series that Pakistan and Australia were fighting for had a biscuit as its trophy. Pakistan won the series fair and square trashing Australia 3-0. However, the Biscuit-trophy has certainly got the World of Twitter storming, with memes all around the social media website. On Twitter, the likes of even ICC had its share of memes on the trophy.
ICC shared the photo of the two captains Aaron Finch and Sarfraz Ahmed with the trophy and a caption, which read, “Giving taking the biscuit a whole new meaning.” However, the memes did not end there as ICC came back to tweet ‘You vs the trophy she told you not to worry about’ that has been trending on the internet.
While ICC was involved just like the other fans on Twitter, who compared the bizarreness of the trophy with the Coca-Cola cup where the lid of the bottle was the trophy.
The PCB is planning a revamp
On the other hand, people started creating images of what the World Cup trophy would look like if it was made by the same creators. Twitter speculated what the World Cup 2019 Trophy might be like – by sharing a pile of biscuits. After all of this fiasco, the PCB has launched an inquiry to look after the people involved in the trophy.
“The silverware was an embarrassment for us and investigation is being held as to how the concerned department allowed this to happen,” a PCB official was quoted as saying in Indian Express. Another source said the head of PCB’s marketing department, Naila Bhatti, has now resigned after the embarrassing round of events that surrounded the trophy.
“The PCB is subsequently planning a revamp in its marketing department,” he said. The source said the board has ordered the inquiry into the functioning of its marketing department, which currently has 13 members. The trophy has caused laughter to the most while being painful for the people behind the job of creating the trophy.
