Wasim Akram is arguably one of the best fast bowlers Pakistan has ever produced. The former captain instilled fear in the minds of the batsmen with his bowling. He is definitely among the best left-hand pacers to have graced the game. With his performance in the 2nd Test against Australia, Mohammad Abbas has highly impressed the maestro.

Abbas has played a critical role in helping Pakistan bag a massive win to take home the series 1-0. He was both the ‘Man of the Match’ as well as the ‘Man of the Series’ as he ended up with 17 wickets in just two Tests. His average of 10.59 in the series is mind-boggling and there is no doubt that a legend like Wasim Akram was drawn into heaping a lot of praise on the pacer.

Akram believes that Abbas has miles to go

The 28-year-old picked a 5-wicket haul in both the innings of the second Test to make it a 10-wicket haul. He returned with figures of 29.4-6-95-10 in the encounter. There wasn’t any special effort from the Aussies this time around in an effort to draw the game. They lost by a mammoth margin of 373 runs which was Pakistan’s biggest margin of victory.

Akram, in his tweet for Abbas, said that the fast bowler was awesome, accurate and is advancing. The legend congratulated him and said that he hit some great lengths. Furthermore, the 52-year-old believes that the 28-year-old has miles to go and wished him all the best for his future.

“Awesome, Accurate and Advancing ..Abbas .., he bowled brilliant lengths to take ten wickets in the match.., congrats young man… you have miles to go and I am convinced you will continue rising to become one of the best.. all the best,” the former skipper tweeted.
