Pakistan vs Sri Lanka: Ill Asif Ali taken to temporary mobile health unit during the 2nd ODI

Asif Ali's condition improved but there's no news of his availability for the third ODI.

Pakistan had got a great start to its home series against Sri Lanka. They won the 2nd ODI match by 67 runs. It was a memorable moment for the cricketers who were getting the chance to play in front of their home crowd after a long interval of time. Babar Azam played tremendously well with his willow, who went onto score his first ton after getting appointed as the vice-admiral of the team.

Sarfaraz Ahmed and Co. looked on toes during the match and didn’t offer a single chance to Sri Lanka to bolster their chances of winning the match, but during the match one player from the squad got severely ill, which is a bad news for Pakistan as they still have to play one ODI and three T20I match against the islanders.

During the second ODI which was being played at National Stadium, the hard-hitting middle-order batsman Asif Ali got ill due to the heat in Karachi. Although he was not the part of playing XI and the situation got very bad for him because of which he was taken to a temporary mobile health unit. He was given proper treatment at the premises which was inside the stadium only. Later, Asif Ali’s condition improved but there’s no news of his availability for the third ODI.

Imam-ul-Haq got cut on his hand

Imam-ul-Haq who was the part of playing XI made a valuable contribution in the match with the bat and got 31 runs but while fielding in Sri Lanka’s chase, he got a cut on his hand and was substituted out to receive medical treatment. It will be an important thing to watch over Imam’s availability for the third ODI.

Although according to Geo TV, a spokesperson of PCB has said that the cut is not so deep and no stitches are needed and expects that left-hand batting opener to be available for the next ODI which is to be played on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, got some positives from their defeat as the form of Shehan Jayasuriya and Dasun Shanaka who did a well-organized partnership of 177 lower down the order that can help them in the further matches of this tour in the absence of senior players who opted themselves out of the tour.
