A stupendous all-around effort from the Men in Green saw the visitors get hammered in the most obnoxious manner possible, which pretty much reflects from the scoreline as well. After a superlative effort in the first of three encounters, the Pakistan team managed put up yet another scintillating performance in all three aspects of the game. With this win against the Windies, Sarfraz Ahmed and his troops have managed to add yet another series win; their seventh consecutive in T20I cricket.
Having played on this wicket yesterday, the Men in Green came up with a set plan and one will have to say, they were able to execute it perfectly. The pitch curator offered a flat batting friendly track and the home team ensured to utilise it in the utmost fashion. Opting to bat first, Pakistan didn’t get off to a great start as they lost their inform batsman Fakhar Zaman early in the innings.
The number three Hussain Talat along with the opener Babar Azam managed to play some delightful shots which eventually helped them to put up a partnership of 119 runs. Talat scored 63 before being dismissed while Azam carried on. With their dazzling effort, the Pakistan team were able to put Windies on backfoot and a mammoth score looked well on cards.
Meanwhile, the Babar kept playing to his strengths which helped him play through the innings and score 3 short of what could have been a memorable hundred. His innings was laced with 13 boundaries and one mighty six. The Pakistani team managed to put up 205 runs on the board, which was never going to be easy for a team like West Indies who had suffered a humiliating loss in the last game.
In reply, Chadwick Walton and Andre Fletcher started the proceedings for Windies but were not able to emulate Azam and Talat’s effort. With lethal opening spell from Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Nawaz, the target looked a hazy dream. Eventually, the wickets kept tumbling for the visitors at regular intervals and they were bowled out under their quota of 20 overs, scoring just 123 runs.
Mohammad Amir and Hussain Talat, were the pick of the bowlers, picking 5 wickets between them. Though they lost the match by 82 runs it was certainly a better effort than the first match but still not good enough to make any difference in the game. It will be interesting to see whether the touring team can show some fight and help spectators witness a crackerjack encounter in the last match of the series.
