More than this big loss, it was the injuries that were suffered by the Pakistan players is demoralizing the spirit of the team. Skipper Bismah Maroof was hit on the face during the practice session on the eve of first ODI that ruled her out of the game. She, however, is expected to get fit and lead the team in the second ODI.

During the first match, Nahida Khan was struck on the grill of her helmet while playing a pull shot. She was later stretched off the field and is doubtful for the second ODI. The stand-in skipper Javeria Khan suffered cramps and was forced to retire hurt but is expected to be fit for the coming game. She resumed her innings and finished as 2nd highest scorer for Pakistan with 21. Pacer Aiman Anwer too suffered a hamstring injury after bowling only five overs.
