The 2018 seasonn of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has kick started and it is touching pace with undying spirits. The tournament has already bagged a lot of headlines for some spectacular display of cricket, and for the glamour quotient as well. Recently, the brand ambassador of the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi, Mahira Khan, expressed her thoughts about the tournament.

Mahira Khan, who is known for her brilliance on the silver screen, is seen supporting Darren Sammy and co. on the cricket field in the PSL. It is worth noting that Mahira has been following the tournament very closely. As per the recent reports in Geo.tv, Mahira remarked that she would not have had an issue had she been a sports person. She was asked which sports personality would she love to be like.

A very modest Mahira was quick to chirp back with the answer taking the name of the legendary former Pakistani skipper. Mahira noted that she would have loved to be a sports personality like the World Cup winning captain Imran Khan. She further noted that she is not a very sporty person but can often relate to the sports.

“I’m not a sporty person. But I wish I could be a sportsperson. It is kind of like acting. People cheer for you when you perform good. You are ‘out’ if you don’t,” Mahira Khan quoted.

Creating a softer image for Pakistan

Commenting further on the same note, Mahira Khan revealed that her family religiously follows the sports of cricket and football. Mahira, who is renowned for her works in movies like ‘Verna’ and ‘Raees’, also feels that the PSL is having a great impact on the Pakistani cricket. She believes that the tournament is doing a very good job of creating a softer image for Pakistan in the global vision.

“That is how we create a softer image,” she said, and added that she hopes to see cricket coming back home.
