Young Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is seeing a meteoric rise in his career graph. The Baroda lad has been making giant strides in the world of international cricket. In the ongoing ODI series against Australia, he has already managed to bag two Player of the Match awards in the three ODIs played thus far. In the first ODI at Chennai, he stitched a key partnership with MS Dhoni to take India to a winning total.

He hit a whirlwind knock of 83 runs. In the third ODI at Indore, he played yet another blistering knock. Starting off slowly, he built his innings in a crescendo. He ended up with a score of 78 to his name. Needless to say, team India is in a very happy place at the moment considering his contributions made to the side. He is being seen as the ideal all-rounder that the team has been wanting for years now.

Many pundits have compared him to legendary former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev as well. They feel that the playing style of Hardik Pandya is pretty much similar to that of the World Cup winning Indian captain. Pandya has also started to settle in the role of the finisher for the team. Amidst this backdrop, the 23-year old has drew some more praise. This time around, it has come from the man himself – Kapil Dev.

Ingredients to become great player

As per the recent quotes in India TV, Kapil Dev mentioned that Hardik is a better player than him. However, he needs to work harder to achieve more. He further added that the fans and the management should not create unnecessary burden on the young lad so soon. Kapil Dev feels Hardik has all the ingredients to become a great player.

“Hardik Pandya is better than me. But he has to do a lot of hard work. It is still too early. We should not create unnecessary burden on him. He has the talent and ability to be a great player,” mentioned Kapil Dev.
