The ball forced the umpires to consult with each other before eventually making the call.

Australian speedster Pat Cummins delivered the worst delivery ever in cricket history in the first Test against Bangladesh. The match is being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The funny incident happened on Day 1 of the Test in the 67th over of the day. Cummins, as usual, came charging in to bowl a firey delivery and right when he was about to release, lost the grip on the ball.

It slipped from his hands and went high only to land near the point fielder. Everyone was left amused at the incident including the bowler himself as well as the umpires. The umpire at the non-striker’s end Nigel Llong after consulting his colleague at square-leg whether to call it dead or give a no ball decided to give a no ball.

Australia in trouble in first Test

Ever since the team from down under landed in Bangladesh, there were talks of the series being closely fought. The visitors have found it tough so far in the first Test. They started extremely well as they dismissed the top 3 batsmen of the hosts for only 10 runs but then had to face Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan with a superb guard. The duo played with patience and helped the team set a competitive total of 260 on a spitting surface.

In reply, Australia lost 4 wickets quickly and were reduced to 33/4 before the close of the day’s play. But then two of their best players against spin bowling, Matt Renshaw and Peter Handscomb, rebuilt the innings cautiously. But once they were dismissed, they collapsed once again and could only post 217 conceding the crucial 43-run lead.

Currently, Bangladesh are 207/8 and lead by 250 runs which considering the wicket is already a winnable margin. Australia would like to bowl them out as soon as possible and show a lot more character in the second innings.
