Pat Cummins, the fast bowler from Australia is ranked number one in the longer format as fas as the latest ICC Test bowlers ranking is concerned. He has tremendously done well for his national side in the last one and a half year. On numerous occasions, he received applauds from the fans and cricketing fraternity. Now, he has added Ricky Ponting in the list of his admirers and that was revealed in the latest social media activity of the former Aussie skipper.

The 26-year-old speedster has certainly brought some huge enhancements in his game that has led him to become one of the dangerous players with the ball in the recent past. Cummins is improving day by day and the debates of him being the best bowler in the world have already started taking rounds in international cricket.

Ricky Ponting picks the best fast bowler in the world

The year 2019 can be rated his by far the best as far as Cummins’ cricketing career is concerned. He grabbed 59 wickets in 12 games played in the last 12 months. Moreover, he did convincingly well in the limited-overs format. He is currently ranked fifth in the latest ICC ODI bowlers ranking. He donned national jersey in 16 ODIs in which he managed to take 31 wickets on a brilliant economy of 7.00.

Recently, a fan took to his Twitter handle and he asked Ponting on, who currently the best fast bowler in the cricket world. His tweet read: “Currently who is the best fast bowler of world cricket?.”.

Soon, Ricky Ponting, the former Aussie skipper responded to his fan with a pleasant answer over the question. He said that the performance given by Pat Cummins in the last twelve months undoubtedly makes him the best fast bowler across the globe. Ponting took to his Twitter handle and responded to his fan saying, “I think what Pat Cummins has done over the last 12 months has him clearly the best fast bowler in the world.”

Cummins is currently is with Australia cricket team as they are gearing up for an important three-match ODI series that is lined-up to begin from 14th of January at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
