It was a keenly contested 4 match Test series between India and Australia which eventually saw Indian reclaiming the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by a 2-1 margin. The spectators were treated to some exceptional brand of cricket by both the teams over the course of the 4 Tests and it will go down as one of the best Test series between the two powerhouses of world cricket.

KL Rahul was the stand-out batsman for Team India up to the order and got his team off to impressive starts on most occasions. Despite not being able to convert his half-centuries into a three figure scores his 6 fifties throughout the series was one of the major reason behind India’s impressive comeback after getting annihilated by 333 runs in the opening Test at Ranchi.

Pat Cummins who was recalled to the squad after the injury to Mitchell Starc bowled his heart out in the last two Tests and bagged impressive returns. On a flat deck in Ranchi, Cummins used his height to unsettle the Indian batsmen and finished with a four-wicket haul. Even in the final Test in Dharamsala Cummins was impressive and scalped 4 wickets.

Following the conclusion of the series, Cummins conceded that he loved the challenge of bowling to KL Rahul whom he considers a confident batsman who has the ability to take the opposition bowlers by the scruff of the neck. ,”I enjoyed the challenge against KL Rahul. He is a confident batsman and can take the game on. I am looking forward to the challenge again” Cummins was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.

It must be mentioned here that Rahul was the one to laud Cummins and Josh Hazlewood for their wonderful spell in Dharamsala and conceded that it was perhaps the toughest session he has faced in his short career so far. ” Josh and Cummins in the first session I can say it’s the toughest session I’ve faced in Test cricket so far,” Rahul had said.

Meanwhile, Rahul is expected to miss the IPL due to a shoulder injury. He had hinted about his injury earlier also which had prevented him from playing the big shots. While Rahul will be missing out, Pat Cummins is expected to spearhead the Delhi Daredevils bowling line-up after his impressive show in the last two Tests.
