Pavel Florin pulls off stunning run out off his own bowling

Remember Pavel Florin, the man from Romania who made the world fall in love with cricket once again with his insatiable love for the game. The Romanian cult hero had become a worldwide sensation after his love for cricket captured the attention of the entire cricket world earlier this year. Florin, who is the president of the Cluj Cricket Club in Romania and a professional bodyguard, made everyone his fan with his passion for cricket.

He did not have the prettiest of bowling action or batting technique but he made amends for it with his passion for the game. Not only the fans, but cricketers also lauded him. In fact, the likes of Shane Warne even offered to help him after seeing his exploits in the European Cricket League. Since then, Florin has managed to remain in the spotlight.

The Transylvanian cricketer is currently in Australia, plying his trade for Surrey Hills Cricket Club in Melbourne. The Melbourne-based club had invited Florin in order to inspire the youngsters. The club was trying to bring Florin to Melbourne from the last four months before he finally got the visa last month.

“We just want kids to enjoy playing the game and love cricket, so we thought he was a wonderful ambassador for that approach to the game,” Club president Mal Campbell had said after Florin received his visa to visit Australia.

Pavel Florin, nonetheless, is making his presence felt Down Under. He has made an impact with the bat, ball and most recently as a fielder to leave a lasting impression. He started his journey in Australia by picking up one wicket in his maiden outing. But in the very next game, he picked up three wickets in addition to plucking three catches.

And recently, he pulled off an absolutely stunning piece of run out off his own bowling. Florin himself took to Twitter to post that clip while writing:

“My first run out in Australia. Sometimes you’re in the right place at the right time! Are you sure it was an accident? 😉”
