PCB announce squads for England Tests, Zimbabwe Tour: Fawad Alam was named in the Pakistan squad for the 3 Tests series against England to be played in UAE. The Pakistan Cricket Board also announced the limited overs squad to face Zimbabwe in September. Sohaib Maqsood, the aggressive batsman returns after injury. The notable inclusions in the T20 team are uncapped players Imran Khan jnr and allrounder Amir Yamin.
Pakistan will play 2 T20Is and 3 ODIs against Zimbabwe before the highly anticipated Test series against England kicks off. England were routed 3-0 in the Tests during their last tour of the UAE but made an impressive comeback to win the ODI series 4-0. Pakistan on the other hand are high on confidence having won a memorable away series against Sri Lanka. While Misbah–ul-Haq is leading the Test side well, Azhar Ali has been a revelation since being handed over the ODI captaincy.
UAE has always been a happy hunting ground for Pakistan and they have almost established it as their home territory in the last few years. In naming the squads, the selection committee also consulted with the Pakistan team Head Coach Waqar Younis and skippers Misbah-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi and Azhar Ali.
