The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a total of 29 Women cricketers for a training camp that will commence this week. The training camp will be for Pakistan women’s team cricketers as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures in world cricket. The camp will commence on October 4 (Wednesday) and conclude on October 24.

As per the recent reports in brecorder.com, the training camp will take place at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke. The reports further suggested the main reason for the training camp. The camp is being organized to help the women cricketers of the Pakistani team for the upcoming ICC Women Championship- Round 1 (Pakistan vs. New Zealand) which will be held at Sharjah, UAE.

Reportedly, the camp will be conducted under the strict supervision of the head coach of the Pakistani women’s team, Mark Coles. Pakistan Women’s team will be taking on the New Zealand Women’s team at Sharjah for three ODIs and four T-20I matches, to be played from October 31, 2017 to November 14, 2017.

Considering the recent form of the team, the team had faced some serious embarrassment at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 that concluded a couple of months ago in England. The team failed to register a single win in the tournament and had received severe criticism from the fans back home. PCB hopes that the team performs better in their upcoming assignments.

The team will not be led by Sana Mir, who had led the team in the World Cup this year. Bismah Maroof has been named as the captain of the team.
