Cricket in Pakistan hasn’t had an auspicious time over the past one decade. Terrorist attacks and political turmoil have sparked from time to time owing to which cricketers from around the globe are reluctant to visit the war-stricken nation. However, ever since Zimbabwe’s tour of the nation in 2015, cricket is gradually finding its way to Pakistan.

Recently, the Windies have agreed to play a three-match T20 International series at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The series was slated to start after the conclusion of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League. Recently, as per reports in brecorder.com, Najam Sethi, the Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the tour will take place as scheduled.

“They will tour Pakistan”- Sethi

“West Indies will be coming to Pakistan on March 31 for three-match series as per schedule. What we have said, we have achieved it so far. So there is no doubt remaining that they will tour Pakistan,” Najam Sethi was quoted as saying in a recent media interaction. Meanwhile, he also mentioned that most tickets are sold and the sponsors are also there for the series.

The PSL has turned out to be a grand success with a number of games going right down to the wire. He also talked about their revival of cricket in the domestic circuit and also heaped praises on the sponsors for not losing steam during the entire duration of the tournament.

“PSL has become an international brand. A lot of sponsors are taking interest in it. As the league is growing, our domestic cricket has been revived as well and now foreign cricket teams are coming to Pakistan. Our sponsors are standing with us from the day one. Without them we could not have achieved this much,” Sethi added.
