PCB revokes player NOC's for the upcoming T10 League season

More new developments continue to come from Pakistan Cricket. It has been an action-packed three months after a disappointing World Cup campaign and an equally shocking 0-3 whitewash at home against Sri Lanka. Naturally, sweeping changes have been made. From the head-coach and support-staff to the selection committee to Sarfaraz Ahmed, every existing member of the previous set-up has been removed.

The latest development to join the list is the decision from the Pakistani Cricket Board of revoking ‘conditioned No Objection Certificates’, handed out to its players to feature in next month’s Abu Dhabi T10 League. PCB’s decision is in a bid to manage players’ workloads and overall fitness.

Incidentally, the third edition of the T10 League in Abu Dhabi which is slated to run from November 15 to 24 coincides with the time when the PCB is organizing a fitness assessment test at the National Cricket Academy in Karachi. 

No Pakistani players in this years T10 League

In a press release by the Pakistan Cricket Board as quoted by CricketPakistan.com.pk, the statement clarified that the apex body’s decision to revoke the conditional NOC’s is in line with their endeavor of managing the workload of its players and also ensure that they are fit enough to participate in the country’s premier First-Class competition: Quaid-e-Azam Trophy

“To manage the players’ workload, continued work on their fitness levels as well as to ensure primacy and participation of its players in its premier Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the PCB has revoked conditional NOCs of its players to feature in the T10 tournament,” Pakistan Cricket Board clarified in a release.

The decision comes after Pakistan’s Head Coach Misbah ul-Haq expressed his disappointment at the reluctance of the senior players to focus on their fitness. The release added that the fitness and medical assessment camp will take place from November 13-25, while also mentioning that the aforementioned step was for the betterment as well as the overall development of the players besides restoring the credibility to the domestic system.

The players affected by the above step are Mohammad Hafeez, Imad Wasim, Faheem Ashraf, Imran Nazir, Sohail Akhtar, Haris Rauf, Mirza Ahsan, Mohammad Amir, Shoaib Malik, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Hasnain, Aamer Yamin, Mohammad Irfan, Anwar Ali, Wahab Riaz.
