Rassie van der Dussen’s wife Lara van der Dussen has been a regular supporter of the Rajasthan Royals from the stands this year but she has been mistakenly believed to be Jos Buttler‘s wife by the fans. Buttler has been dominating the tournament so far in the batting department with four centuries already and has got to 824 runs in 16 games so far at an average of 58.86.

The English lad has been making runs for fun and no wonder, the RR fans from the stands have been quite animated including Lara. Buttler’s wife and his family have arrived in the bio bubble last week while the South African batter van der Dussen has managed to play just three games this season. This brought about confusion in the fans and in a recent interview, Lara went on to joke about the situation.

I definitely think it’s because I’ve been in camera quite a few times: Lara van der Dussen

Lara mentioned that the fans have misunderstood that she is Buttler’s wife but went on to make a hilarious comment that she won’t mind being Buttler’s second wife with the way he has been scoring tons. She added that Dhanashree and herself have not been able to control the emotions in the stands and found the funny side of the excitement. She noted about Rassie van der Dussen for Rajasthan Royals not getting enough games to show her sentiments.

“People think I’m Jos’ wife. I definitely think it’s because I’ve been in camera quite a few times. And Dhanashree and I cannot control ourselves next to the field as we are quite invested in the cheering. And Jos has been getting 100s as we go along and maybe the excitement has got people thinking probably I’m part of him, so it’s quite interesting,” Lara told the Royals podcast.

“And Rassie has not played as much in the IPL so I haven’t been able to show the same sentiment to him. So I’ll just adopt the cheering for Jos for now on and enjoy it,” she added.
