The first T20 between Sachin’s Blaster’s and Warne’s Warrior’s made numerous cricket fanatics witness the old days tune once again.

Shane Warne’s Warriors beat Sachin’s Blasters by 6 wickets, but at the end, cricket was the real winner. 45000 plus spectators thronged in the stadium to witness their all time favourites.

Virender Sehwag’s half century set the tone for the series, while Shoaib Akhtar’s brilliant show turned out to be breathtaking. The world witnessed vintage best Wasim Akram, Courtney Walsh and Curtley Ambrose perform.

Tendulkar thanked the passionate crowd for the support, saying during the post-match presentation that “the first match has been really special. We thoroughly enjoyed being here. New York, you were brilliant. Houston and LA, you are going to find it difficult to match them.”

Addressing media in a post-match press conference, Tendulkar said, “For any sportsman the best thing one can do is to appreciate their performance and effort and that is what we all experienced today.”

Warne also showed his appreciation for the fans who had turned up to watch cricket in the stadium. “We wanted to be competitive. There was some skillful batting and bowling and fielding out there.

But we know they will come back hard in Houston. A lot of the guys have trained hard, they are proud people, they don’t want to be embarrassed and they were not today,” he said.

Let’s look at what the player’s had to see after an eventful outing.
