Marnus Labuschagne is one player who finds himself in the news with either his performances or his mannerism on the field. In the Australia-India Test series, we did find many people talking about his mannerism on the field and the talk hasn’t stopped with him going and playing for the Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League 2020-21.

As soon as he arrived at the BBL, all the eyes were on Labuschagne. On Friday, he was at it again during Brisbane’s crucial match against Adelaide Strikers. He bowled a three-overs spell in which he gave away 13 runs only and picked three crucial wickets. However, at the end of the innings, people were talking about Marnus’ mannerism on the field rather than his bowling.

During an over to Travis Head, his Australian teammate, Labuschagne kept appealing with his loud voice. Now, the broadcasters had mic-ed up the players so that his voice could be heard by the viewers. However, the move might have just backfired. Fox Sports had done this because they wanted Labuschagne’s insights on the game and gave them to the viewers.

I don’t think I’d want to room with him: Mark Waugh on-air on Marnus Labuschagne

But, Marnus’ loud antics even made former Australian batsman Mark Waugh get a little annoyed. “Is that in a foreign language, that appeal?” Mark Waugh said in commentary for Fox Cricket. “I don’t think I’d want to room with him,” he added.

Soon, there were a few more people who started talking about his wild antics on the field. Commentator Adam Collins tweeted: “Even by Marnus’ standards, that’s a wild appeal. Imagine what umpires must say about him.” After dismissing Travis Head eventually, his celebration was also loud as ever. “Yeeeaaahhhhh! There it is, flatter wrong’un. Yeah boy!” Labuschagne screamed.

Soon a few others started tweeting about his antics. Journalist Tom Chadwick wrote on Twitter, ”Pls mute Marnus. I just want to watch cricket in relative peace.” Cricket statistician Ric Finlay added: “Can someone take the mic off Marnus please? Can do without the shrieking!”

This is not the first time people have talked about his on-field conduct. A few days back Shane Warne had also said that Labuschagne should be batting more than focusing on the antics.
