Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, thanked Ravindra Jadeja after the latter reiterated his loyalty and support to Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Jadeja has a strong bond with the ruling part of the nation as his wife Rivaba recently joined forces with them. In fact, Mrs Jadeja is herself fighting for a seat from the Jamnagar constituency in the ongoing elections.

Rivaba had joined the party last month in Jamnagar in the presence of the eminent BJP leaders from the state. However, there were questions raised on Jadeja’s loyalty to BJP when two of his own family members surprisingly pledged their allegiance to BJP’s biggest opposition party Congress. Jadeja’s father and sister joined Congress earlier this month.

The all-rounder’s father Anirudhsinh and sister Nainaba joined Congress at an election rally in Kalavad city of Jamnagar district on Sunday (April 14). But before more people could point their fingers at Jadeja, he silenced his doubters. The Indian star took to Twitter to reiterate his support for BJP. Tagging PM Narendra Modi in his tweet, Jadeja posted a picture of the symbol of the party while writing:

“I support BJP.@narendramodi #rivabajadeja jai hind 🇮🇳”

And Mr Modi did not take long to react to Jadeja’s tweet. Within hours, the Prime Minister thanked Jadeja for the message. Mr Modi also congratulated Jadeja for being a part of India’s World Cup squad.

“Thank you @imjadeja! And, congratulations on being selected for the Indian cricket team for the 2019 World Cup. My best wishes,” wrote the Indian Prime Minister.

Jadeja’s remarkable rise in ODIs:

The way Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have been performing since replacing Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin in the limited-overs team in 2017, not many would have given the senior spinners a chance of breaking into the Indian team again. But while Ashwin is yet to prove his doubters wrong, Jadeja has already done it. He made a sensational return to the ODI team during the last year’s Asia Cup and has not looked back since then.
