The local police have cleared Virat Kohli from the ongoing call center scam following the alleged theft of the 27-year old’s Audi R8. However, upon further investigations, the police have found evidence that he had absolutely nothing to do with the theft of the same. An undisclosed source within the Thane Police was quoted by tabloids who revealed the actual details of the case.
Sagar Thakkar aka ‘Shaggy’ was the kingpin of the entire case. Although he has absconded to Dubai momentarily, the police have been successful in tracing the accomplice to Dubai. The car has been seized in Delhi.
A source within Thane Police said, “According to our investigation, Shaggy’s girlfriend is a huge Virat Kohli fan. As a gesture on her birthday, he wanted to surprise her with this gift as it belonged to the cricketer. The exact price of the vehicle is Rs 3 crore, which is the ongoing market price. However, Virat’s representatives sold the car for Rs 2.5 crore to him. Both the cricketer and his representatives were in touch with him about the car’s sale but were completely unaware of his background. It is purely co-incidental.”
“The car was seized in Delhi, and we are currently in the process of bringing it back to Thane.”

Param Bir Singh, the commissioner of the Thane police requested that the matter not is blown out of proportion. He said, “Please don’t blow the matter out of proportion, there is no way Virat or his representatives would know that he was running a racquet. It is a purely co-incidental matter.”
Sagar Thakkar had allegedly made around 12 fake calls before making the trade for the car. “He is currently in Dubai and we are trying to get him here. In terms of official status, he is absconding.”
As for Virat Kohli, the 27-year old is in Vizag preparing for the final ODI against New Zealand to ensure that India’s perfect record against the Kiwis at home remains intact.
