The Indian selectors turned a few heads when they included uncapped Mumbai pacer Shardul Thakur in the Test side for the Test series. However, at the moment, it would seem as though the Indians may be willing to hand a debut cap to the 25-year old for the upcoming Test match at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet.

The Indian team is up by a match in the series and the second match at Kingston being drawn, it seems certain that the Indians will need to tweak their bowling a wee bit. However, whether this comes in the pace bowling department remains to be seen.

The Indian bowling attack boasts of three pacers and two spinners. While the spinners have been doing the utmost best, there are a few gaping holes in the pace department. Moreover, the fact that the Indians could not bowl out the West Indies batsmen on the final day of the Kingston Test. This, however, goes on to bring up an uneasy question, should Umesh Yadav make way for Shardul Thakur?

While many would look at this poll and add that it is highly unlikely, the inclusion of Thakur ahead of Umesh Yadav would be a logical selection in the eyes of one and all. At the moment, Umesh has not made much of an impact with the ball.

Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, and Ravi Ashwin are the only bowlers who have managed to consistently take wickets. However, with Shardul Thakur being amongst the wickets in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy season, it will be important for the Indians to play him for the future development of Indian cricket. Here we give the fans their opportunity to vote and make their opinion count.
