The much awaited Ashes 2017-18 are set to get underway and the excitement is increasing with every passing moment. The first Test of the Ashes 2017-18 will be played at the Gabba, Brisbane commencing on November 23. Now, ahead of the big game, the invites are out to the fans to get their best swimwear and bikinis to the stadium. The fans have a lucky chance to enjoy the game from the Pool Deck.

Yes, you have read it right. The Pool Deck is all set to make its debut in the Ashes series. It was introduced at the venue last year when Australia hosted Pakistan in the day-night Test. The Pool Deck is believed to be one of the coolest places to witness the cricket action from. The deck at the Gabba has the capacity of almost 140 people. Now, it is the chance for the fans to get their best swimwears and show that they are pool ready for the game.

Not all fans would get the chance to be there, and hence it would be safe to assume that the ones who make it, will be really lucky ones. The official Cricket Australia Website confirmed that only selected individuals will be allowed in the Pool Deck or at the lounges present at the Deck. As per the reports in IBTimes, there are two ways to get the access to the pool –

1. Finding the roaming pool deck staff; have your photo taken in your best pool attire and provide your contact details, in case you are selected. (or)
2. Take a selfie with your family or friends showing you are ready for the pool; post it to social media (Twitter, Facebook or Instagram) using the hashtag #cricketpooldeck; make sure your account is public so we can contact you if you are selected.

Guidelines for the Pool Deck entry

In addition to this, there are other guidelines for the fans as well. Any unlawful behavior will not be tolerated in the pool. The management will have all the rights to refuse the entry to an individual at the deck. For the fans below the age of 18, the parents supervision is mandatory.

The fans are also requested not to lean on the railings and the furniture are the decks are expected to remain unmoved. Throwing anything in the pool shall be avoided and the most surprising of them all – no Mexican wave is allowed!
