After looking at the disastrous performance of Pakistan Women in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now looking to review the budgetary allocations and domestic structure regarding Women’s cricket. Sana Mir’s Pakistan team could not even open their account on the points table and finished at the bottom of the table by losing all their seven games.

Instead of taking full responsibility for the debacle in England and displaying concerns over the dismal performances, the team has been involved in a blame game. According to reports by Dawn, the Women Wing’s secretary Shamsa Hashmi intimated that there was a review underway but the international affairs and other activities wouldn’t be affected, adding that trials were being held in Gilgit-Baltistan this week as per schedule.

Mir might lose her captaincy as well as her place in the team

When asked whether the review was an aftermatch of team’s poor performance at the Women’s World Cup, Shamsa Hashmi, in a disinclined manner, replied by saying that she cannot comment anything regarding the matter. “I can’t say anything in this regard.” said the Women Wing’s secretary of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shamsa Hashmi. But later admitted that she was disappointed with the results as they were expecting the team to win against Sri Lanka, West Indies and India.

“[Manager] Ayesha Ashar and [head coach] Sabih Azhar would submit their respective reports in next couple of days and then we can look where it went wrong,” added the Women Wing’s secretary the Women Wing’s secretary of Pakistan Cricket Board Shamsa Hashmi. In recent developments from Pakistan, reports suggest that Sana Mir might lose her place in the team as well as the captaincy along with the coach of the team the name of Sabih Azhar. All rounder Bismah Maroof might be the ideal replacement for Mir if the situation unfolds according to the reports.
