The Bollywood industry has always been close to the world of sports and it is a known fact all over the globe. From cricketers marrying Bollywood actresses to superstars owning cricket, football and kabaddi teams the bond has been an ever lasting one. As far as the lucrative Indian Premier League is concerned, B-Town stars in the name of Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta owned the Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and the Kings XI Punjab respectively.

The main story:

However, the Baadshah of Bollywood was the only one who extended his business and went to buy another team in the Caribbean Premier League. The actor moved a step forward and also bought his third team going by the name of the Cape Town Knight Riders in the upcoming T20 Global League announced by the CSA. But, the actor has now been joined by Preity Zinta who made a stunning comeback into the world of sports by owning the team Stellenbosch Monarchs.

The previous company which owned the Monarchs backed out at the last moment leaving the franchise up for grabs. Preity Zinta capitalized on the opportunity and is now the new owner of the team. She took to her official Twitter account to announce the news and express her happiness. She thanked the South African Cricket Board for giving her the opportunity.

“In her tweet, the beautiful actress wrote Some things are meant to be !  Super excited to come on board @T20GL_  & @SBMonarchs & revisit SAafter IPL.Thank U  @OfficialCSA”

While Shah Rukh Khan tasted the ultimate success twice in the Indian Premier League with his team Kolkata Knight Riders, Preity Zinta did not lift the trophy even once. The Kings XI Punjab is yet to lift the IPL trophy for the first time and the 10 years of IPL have not gone well for the actress. However, she will be hoping something different from her team and will be looking to bag the inaugural title when the T20 Global League kicks off.
