Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar yadav set to join team India in England
Both the players will continue to be available for the T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav will be joining team India in England soon as the replacements ahead of the Test series. India have lost players like Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar to injuries in the lead up to the series starting from August 4. Earlier, the request from the management for replacements was rejected but more injuries have forced the selectors to sought for reinforcements.
While Gill was ruled out of the series soon after the World Test Championship Final against New Zealand, Avesh and Sundar sustained injuries during the three-day warm-up against County Select XI. Gill has already returned home while the other two players are soon expected to take the flight to India.
Meanwhile, according to Cricbuzz, the names of Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav were zeroed in by the Chetan Sharma-led selection panel after the discussion with the head coach Ravi Shastri. Despite their selection, both Shaw and Surya will continue to be available for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka due to start from July 25.
No idea about when and how players will travel
The T20I series against Sri Lanka is set to conclude on July 29. But it is still unknown when and how the two players will travel to England. Rather it has been reported that not many members of the Indian squad in Sri Lanka were aware about the news until Saturday morning. It is also understood that the request for the third player but there is no confirmation if he will be sent to England.
Both Shaw and Surya impressed in the three One-Day Internationals against Sri Lanka that concluded on July 23 (Friday). Shaw won the Man of the Match award for his 43 off 24 in the first ODI while Surya scored runs consistently in all the three ODIs to win the Player of the Series award. He scored 124 runs in three matches at an average of 62 and a strike-rate of 122.77.
Shaw’s name was always around for a replacement in the Test squad but Surya’s name is interesting given he has never been discussed for the Tests before.
