The 2018 Pakistan Super League will be the third edition of the league. It is set to be played from 22 February-25 March. A total of six teams will feature in the competition in which 34 games will be played before two playoffs and the final. The Multan Sultans are the newest addition to the league.

Green Signal

The Karachi Kings will be lead by Imad Wasim while Shahid Afridi will be his deputy. Tymal Mills, Eoin Morgan, Colin Munro and Ravi Bopara are few of the international players representing the Karachi Kings. Most of the matches are to be played in UAE but a few of them will be played in Lahore and Karachi. The Karachi Kings’ owner revealed that six out of seven international players in his team are ready to visit Lahore and Karachi for the eliminators and the final.

“Six out of seven players are ready to come and play in Pakistan except for Morgan who has other commitments. He will join us late and leave early,” said Iqbal to the reporters in a kit unveiling ceremony. “This is good news for all of us that players have agreed to play in Pakistan and we hope the security situation stays like this until that time.” Except for Eoin Morgan, all the other overseas players have given the green signal.

The owner also added a few words on the new captain Imad Wasim: “In the last two seasons, there has been a fluctuation in captains and now the management has decided that there should be a young captain who can stay with us for a longer period and can prove to be helpful, not only for us but for the national team too.”

To bring more players to play in Pakistan, each foreign cricketer who plays PSL matches in the country will be paid extra US$10,000 for each of these matches. The PCB has been constantly making efforts to bring back international cricket back to Pakistan with the most recent one being the World XI tour to Pakistan.
