He bid adieu to the longest format of the game recently after the New Zealand Test series which Pakistan and will now concentrate only on the shorter formats ahead of the World Cup. He is in great form in the T20Is especially and would be hoping to lead from the front in the PSL for the Qalandars.

Hafeez’s T20 record

Mohammad Hafeez has been impeccable form in the shortest format ever since he has made a comeback in Pakistan side. He has constantly scored over 30 runs in almost every game in the last two series against Australia and New Zealand at home. As far as his overall T20I record is concerned, the veteran has played in 89 matches in the green jersey and has amassed 1908 runs at a decent strike-rate of 116.13.

Meanwhile, he was excited about leading the Qalandars and also went on to say that it will be a challenge for him in the next season. “Captaining Qalandars will be a challenge for me. The program has given a platform for the up and coming players. Qalandars are aiming that all international players come to Pakistan,” he said in the press conference.

When asked about his Test retirement, Hafeez said, “I have retired from Test cricket with honour and respect. However, the time frame is not right to retire from one-day internationals and T20.”
