Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi are slated to lock horns in Match 13 of the tournament. United, who are currently poised third in the points table with two wins in four matches, will be eager to contest for the top spot by registering a win against Peshawar Zalmi.

In their previous match against Quetta Gladiators, Shadab Khan Co suffered a five-wicket defeat despite amassing a massive score of 187 runs on the board. Colin Munro (31) and Colin Ingram (63) played a pivotal role in United’s pursuit of a mammoth total. However, an inefficient bowling force was unable to curb Quetta Gladiators’ run-flow as knocks from Jason Roy and Ben Cutting steered their side to the victory. Faheem Ashraf and Ahmed Safi Abdullah scalped two wickets each but the bowling attack of United was unable to mount pressure on Gladiators’ batsmen.

Peshawar Zalmi are currently sitting at the bottom-last position after amassing two points from three games. In their previous match against Multan Sultans, Zalmi had to suffer a six-wicket defeat after amassing a modest total of 123 runs on the board.

Haider Ali emerged as the lone warrior for his side as he smashed a quick-fire 47-run knock off just 27 deliveries. While Multan Sultans’ batting attack wreaked havoc on Zalmi’s bowling force and cruised to the target in the 15th over itself.

Pitch and Conditions

The track at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is expected to aid the batsmen. The team winning the toss will be looking to bat first considering the past records at this wicket.
