PSL 2021: Match 20 ISL vs LAH Preview, Playing XI Updates, Live Streaming Details & Pitch Report

Lahore Qalandars have been exceptional in the 2021 edition of the PSL. The team, led by Sohail Akhtar, are sitting pretty on top of the points table with five wins from six matches and 10 points.

Another win will also help them become the first team in the championship to qualify for the playoffs. Rashid Khan has bagged POTM awards in both their last matches and he has gotten support from the others as well.

Their next match is against Islamabad United in the first of Sunday’s doubleheader in Abu Dhabi. In their previous meeting, the Qalandars defeated them by five wickets. However, Shadab Khan’s United would be high on confidence after beating the Quetta Gladiators by 10 wickets.

They chased down 134 with 10 overs to spare. On the head-to-head count, the United are 8-2 ahead of the Qalandars, but on current form, the latter seem to have the upper hand.

Left-handed batter Colin Munro scored a 36-ball 90 in the previous game and he should be high on confidence. His opening partner Usman Khawaja looked in decent touch as well in the last match. It’s time for the rest of the batters to step up and lend the overseas duo some much-needed support.

In the bowling department, Hasan Ali has been the standout performer with 10 wickets at an economy rate of 5.83. Mohammad Wasim Jr and Akif Javed bowled with venom. Muhammad Musa was a tad expensive, but he prized out the wicket of Andre Russell, who was looking dangerous.

In the Qalandars’ batting, Mohammad Hafeez and Fakhar Zaman have done a chunk of the scoring. Tim David scored an unbeaten 64 last time and he should be in pretty good shape. The onus will also be on the likes of Ben Dunk and skipper Akhtar to score some crucial runs and guide their team.

Among the bowlers, Rashid has been exceptional as he has seven wickets at an economy rate of 4.56. In the two games in Abu Dhabi, he has conceded 29 runs and gotten six scalps. Pacer James Faulkner has done decently as well. Shaheen Shah Afridi is their leading wicket-taker with 10 dismissals.
