PSL 2022: Shaheen Afridi lifts up Mohammad Rizwan after guiding Lahore Qalandars to the title

The Lahore Qalandars emerged as the champions of the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by beating the Multan Sultans side in the final of the competition by 42 runs.

And, after the match, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan shared a wonderful moment with each other. Both cricketers were seen hugging each other, with Afridi lifting Rizwan after the final of PSL 2022.

Shaheen Afridi produced a terrific performance with the ball for the Lahore Qalandars outfit in the final. The left-arm seamer scalped 3 wickets in the 4 overs that he bowled and leaked only 30 runs as well.

Lahore Qalandars comfortably beat Multan Sultans to win the title

The Lahore Qalandars produced a ‘complete’ performance with both bat and ball to lift the 2022 PSL title. Batting first, the Qalandars posted a total of 180/5 on the board, with Mohammad Hafeez top-scoring with a fluent 46-ball 69.

Apart from Hafeez, Harry Brook also stepped up for his side and scored a quickfire 41* at a strike rate of close to 200. Asif Afridi was the pick of the bowlers for the Multan Sultans side and scalped 3 wickets giving away just 19 runs in his 4-over spell.

In reply, the Multan Sultans were bowled out for just 138. Apart from Khushdil Shah, who scored a 23-ball 32, no other batter could even cross the 30-run mark. While Shaheen Afridi was the pick of the bowlers, Mohammad Hafeez and Zaman Khan also scalped 2 wickets each to constantly put the pressure back on the opposition. Hafeez won the Player of the Match award in the final for his contribution with both bat and ball.

On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan won the Player of the Series award for smashing 546 runs in the competition at an average of close to 70.
