With the West Indies choosing to snub the tour of Pakistan, the board’s chairman Shahryar Khan is certainly in a spot of bother. The Pakistan Cricket Board has not seen much of international cricket in recent times with just the three or four matches against Zimbabwe.

While there were no qualms regarding the security on the day, it was quite clear that man of the other sides did indeed have security issues on the day, something that ideally the PCB does not like to hear. Shahryar Khan, despite his vast age of 84 remains to be hustling to find a suitable team to tour Pakistan in the near future.

“Foreign teams rely a great deal on the travel advisories from their embassies in Pakistan so once that changes and becomes positive only then can we expect to convince teams (to come),” PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan said on Sunday.

“We are the confirmed hosts of the PSL (Pakistan Super League) final in Lahore, so once it’s done it will create an opening plus former England cricket head Giles Clarke is visiting Pakistan from January 28 so he will also assess the situation.”

Pakistan has been in a dearth of international cricket in recent times following the incident that occurred in Sri Lanka’s tour of Pakistan in 2009. Since the terror attack, Pakistan has been deemed an unsafe place to play international cricket.

The West Indies Cricket Board, soon to be renamed to Cricket West Indies has gone on to decline the proposal to undergo a tour of the Asian giants in the upcoming season. However, now it would seem as though there is only going to be an overseas tour.
