Shahrukh Khan, the Punjab Kings batter, have had a decent time in his cricket career over the last 12 months or so. After performing well for Tamil Nadu in the domestic circuit, he registered himself in the 2021 Indian Premier League auction at a base price of INR 20 lakhs. In the end, the right-handed batsman fetched a stunning INR 5.25 crores from the KL Rahul-led franchise.

Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore also went after him in the auction. However, in the end, it was PBKS, who secured his services. In the meantime, Shahrukh posted an adorable picture of his alongside Preity Zinta, the co-owner of the Punjab-based franchises.

Shahrukh used a dialogue from the Bollywood Blockbuster Kal Ho Naa Ho, starring Zinta and veteran actor Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan. He captioned the picture and wrote, “Naina, 1 2 3 tinggg,”

Scott Styris praises Shahrukh Khan

Earlier, former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris said that Khan could aspire to become Hardik Pandya. The veteran stated that after he grows and develops, the youngster could turn out to be a reliable finisher in the history of the T20 championship.

“I think that’s a lot of pressure to put on his shoulders. I would want to back up that truck a little bit and say no. Just let him play and develop! People develop at different speeds as well. He might take two-three-four seasons to get to a point where he is a reliable finisher,” Styris said.

“I don’t want to compare anyone with Kieron Pollard, he’s 6 foot 5, he’s huge. Shahrukh Khan is a big guy as well. Maybe he can look to aspire to be like Hardik Pandya. I’ve seen a lot of Shahrukh Khan because of my commentary days with the Tamil Nadu Premier League,” he added.

In IPL 2021, Shahrukh didn’t flatter to deceive by any means. He was included in the eleven from the very first match itself and he kept scoring runs. In seven innings, he managed to score 107 runs at an average and strike rate of 21.40 and 127.38 respectively with a top score of 47.
