While the fans of more or less every team of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) are happy with the picks their teams made in the draft which was held yesterday (November 12) in Lahore, Quetta Gladiators’ supporters are bewildered with former Pakistani cricketer Moin Khan for picking his own son, Azam Khan.

The 46-year-old from Rawalpindi is the coach of Quetta Gladiators. In their 3rd pick of the supplementary order of the draft, the Gladiators opted for Azam when there were many well-known players like Fawad Alam and Awais Zia up for grabs.

The fans were angry at Moin because Azam’s fitness level is not seemingly up to the mark. The chubby player is doing rounds in the social media. There is no stopping the body shamers, as some even went on to call him “hippopotamus”‘.

After the pick, the official Twitter handle of Quetta Gladiators released the news via a tweet, which reads “Keeping it in the family! Join us in welcoming ‘Azam Khan’ (Our coach’s own son) as our 3rd pick in the PSL Draft Supplementary order!!#HBLPSLDraft#PurpleForce #GladiatorsUnleashed.”

 The replies that followed

While the pick was not much to say about, the replies were hilarious at one hand, and humiliating on the other. While someone wrote “Can you please justify the inclusion of the Great Legendary “Hippopotamus” Master Blaster #AzamKhan S/o Moin Khan in @TeamQuetta ? #PSLDraft #PSL2018 #PSL3″.

Another one mocked the pick by saying “Fitness comes first and followed by @TeamQuetta by selecting Azam Khan son of Moin Khan which is coach of Quetta Gladiators#Cricket”. Fans were unhappy with the nepotism that was on display at the draft table, and they lashed their hearts out on Twitter.

Some even went on to say “With this fitness…. #QuettaGladiators coach Moeen Khan pick own son Azam Khan… RIP MERIT! #GladiatorsUnleashed#PSL2018″.
