R Ashwin to miss the next two matches for CSK: India and Chennai Super Kings odd-spinner R Ashwin is all set to miss the next two matches of his team in the IPL after he suffered a finger injury while fielding during his side’s 2 run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders last night.
Fielding at cover, he attempted a catch to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav, but the ball ended up hitting his middle finger of his bowling hand and finger started to bleed. Eventually he left the field and spent did not come back to field in the rest of the innings.
Chennai team manager Russell Radhakrishnan said that Ashwin has suffered a split in the middle finger and he requires some stitches. He also said that the team has decided not to take him for the next two matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Prior to his injury, Ashwin got CSK back into the match when he dismissed Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey to apply the brakes on Kolkata’s run-rate while chasing just 135. He eventually finished with figures of 2-5 in 2 overs.
