A former member of the Supreme court appointed Ramachandra Guha has lashed out at the BCCI for not giving Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan the amount of respect they deserve. The historian took to his official Twitter handle to express his feelings and the man looks quite disappointed.

Guha believes that two pure legends like Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan, no way deserved the humiliation they are going through at the moment. In his tweet, Guha mentioned that the BCCI is treating both the cricketers exactly the same way Anil Kumble was treated which was with sheer disrespect.

Guha’s tweet read “The shameful treatment of Anil Kumble has now been compounded by the cavalier treatment of Zaheer Khan and Rahul Dravid.”

What had happened:

Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan was roped in by the Cricket Advisory Committee comprised of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman as the overseas batting consultant and the bowling coach respectively. the two were supposed to assist Ravi Shastri during his coaching tenure. According to the supreme court appointed Committee of Administrators, both the cricketers were handed over the duties without consulting Ravi Shastri.

BCCI announced that the decision of Dravid and Zaheer will be analysed once again. The final call will be taken by a 4 member panel formed by the BCCI which will include CK Khanna, Vikram Limaye, Diana Edulji and Rahul Johri.

The way the Indian cricket Board is dealing with these important issues has been criticised heavily and Ramachandra Guha is the latest to raise his voice against the board.

“It is now very clear that there were issues (between Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble) that existed. I certainly believe that those issues could have been brought to people’s attention a lot earlier, so that the situation could have been managed better. It was brought to our (CoA) attention last minute. Those who were aware of the issue should have raised it earlier; two months earlier, three months earlier; when they got to know of it. Kumble was appointed for one year and not that these were age-old issues,” Limaye said.
