The India U19 team, led by the talismanic Prithvi Shaw scripted history by winning the junior CWC for a record fourth time. The Men in Blue defeated Australia in the summit clash to win the coveted title the most number of times. The Indian colts persisted and showed game after game why they were so highly rated as they lifted the trophy without losing a single game on the road.
The champion side was led by one of India’s brightest young prospects, a kid born and bred in Mumbai, Prithvi Shaw, who first waltzed into the spotlight at the age of 14, when he became the highest run-getter in any organised form of cricket in recent memory by hitting 546 in a single innings in a local Mumbai tournament.
