Rajasthan Royals is back to IPL after a gap of a couple of seasons and the reports suggest they may be playing at their original home venue again which is the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

The Royals had to choose a different home venue during the 2014 season as the BCCI had imposed a temporary suspension on the Rajasthan Cricket Association making the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, which comes under the possession of RCA, ineligible for hosting the IPL matches.

That suspension is still there, however there are speculations that BCCI may soften its stance in the upcoming Special General Meeting and lift the suspension if RCA agrees to take back all the court cases that it has lodged against the board.

Royals authorities met the Rajasthan Sports minister

Meanwhile a couple of authorities of the Royals went to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium recently and had a look at the condition the ground and the stadium was in. They, thereafter, also had a meeting with Gajendra Singh Khimsar who is the sports minister in the Rajasthan Government.

“The minister welcomed us back to Jaipur. We would also want it that way, now it’s up to the BCCI to decide.” A source close to the Royals management was quoted saying by Sportstar.

The speculations of Royals having Sawai Mansingh Stadium back as their home venue were fueled even more when Amitabh Chaudhary, who is the acting secretary of BCCI at the moment, also made his way to Jaipur a couple of days back and had an interaction with J.C. Mohanty, the Rajasthan Sports Secretary.

Sawai Mansingh Stadium a happy hunting ground for the Royals

The Royals fans would be praying that something positive comes out of the BCCI SGM on 11th of December and the Royals get the permission to play their home matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the next IPL. The record of the Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium is fantastic and it has been termed their fortress in the past as they have not let the opposition win too many matches there.
